Thank you for printing my letter in last week's edition of Newspeak. I would just like to make the statement though that the title that you used, "Honor groups at WPI aren't so honorable", was not consistent with the message of my letter. I said that I believe that there should be a uniform definition of what an honor group is at WPI. I never said that the honor groups here "aren't so honorable" and this isn't what I meant in my letter.
I think that many of the honor groups on this campus are honorable, productive organizations composed of many fine, honorable people. I still think that there should be a guideline to define what an honor group is, but that's not the same as saying that any of the honor societies on this campus aren't honorable.
I would like to apologize to all of the dozen or so honor groups on this campus if there were any misunderstandings about what the purpose of my letter was. If anyone has written to Newspeak this week about honor groups not being "honorable" then I hope I've dealt with that adequately in this letter and clarified my point of view.
