Commemorative coins celebrate off-campus projects

May graduates Kim James and Jonathan Reynolds, who did their IQPs in Venice in 1996, are two of more than 200 graduates who left WPI with something more than memories and photographs this year. Their commemorative coins, inscribed with the image of a globe and the words "Worcester Polytechnic Institute Global Perspective Program," were awarded during a ceremony on the day before Commencement to graduating seniors who completed projects off campus.

"We wanted to give these students something that will remind them of one of the best parts of their WPI experience - possibly of their lives," says Professor Richard Vaz '79, who co-chairs the Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Program with Global Studies Director Hossein Hakim and Professor Douglas Woods.
