London event highlights WPI's global reach

On March 31, WPI celebrated 25 years in London with a gala at the U.S. Embassy hosted by The Honorable Philip Lader, America's Ambassador to the Court of St. James, and WPI President Edward A. Parrish. Distinguished guests included ambassadors or representatives from Kuwait, Mexico, The Netherlands, Thailand and Zimbabwe, as well as more than 250 WPI alumni and friends from as far away as Germany, India, Korea and Turkey. The reception and the inaugural meeting of the President's International Advisory Board (IAB) on April 1 were the University's largest off-campus events.

The mission of the IAB is to develop new and existing fields of endeavor to expand WPI's image internationally, build international relationships and links to corporations outside the U.S., and foster cooperative research efforts with industry. Members of the new board include international alumni, parents of current international students, and leaders from international businesses, industries, and educational and community organizations.
