CDC moves down and upgrades

A few months ago, WPI's Career Development Center moved from its quarters on Boynton Hall's third floor to the lower level of the Project Center. "The new CDC is better able to serve students, employers and alumni," says Director Yvonne Harrison.

According to Associate Director Mary Beth Harrity, employers are impressed: "much better quality" than many of the college facilities they have visited, they say. The handsome new quarters (2,800 square feet) includes a waiting area for students, offices for professional staff, seven private interviewing rooms, a library of career search software for job seekers, and a lounge for employers.

The new Career Commencement software available to students and alumni is an effective search tool, says Harrity. The package also includes Internet access, a 600,000-employer/ company database, and resume preparation programs. Alumni may use the software for $45; call the CDC at 508-831-5260 for an appointment.
