You can come home again

Terry Schmidt, who received her bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering from WPI in 1992, recently joined the University Relations team as director of corporate relations. She is responsible for building long-term relationships between the university and corporations.

A native of Nashua, N.H., Schmidt was an active member of the WPI community during her undergraduate days. She was a resident advisor, chairman of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, president of the Newman Club, and an active member of the Big Brother/Big Sister organization, the Student Activities Board and the Women's Chorale. She has served her alma mater as a member of her class's Board of Directors, campus coordinator for the GE/WPI executive team, and an alumni admissions volunteer.

After graduation Schmidt spent five years with General Electric, holding various positions in manufacturing, facilitites, sourcing and quality. In November 1996 she completed her M.B.A. at New Hampshire College's Brunswick, Maine, campus.
