VOLUME 13, NO. 2 NOVEMBER 2000
In accordance with our Vision Statement, Alumni Association volunteers have been working in partnership with members of President Parrish's Cabinet and other WPI administrators this year to develop plans for addressing the needs of alumni. Committees have been established to focus on the areas of communications, career development and lifelong learning, and to continue popular programs such as Homecoming, Reunion and regional events.
An Alumni Leadership Conference was held the weekend of Sept. 9, 2000, to recognize and support all alumni volunteers, celebrate their contributions, enhance their effectiveness and increase pride in WPI.
Look for services available online at WPI's alumni Web pages (www.wpi.edu/Admin/Alumni). Here you can search for fellow alumni, read and post job listings, create e-mail lists, and find links to related Web pages. Two new features designed to help you stay in touch are WPI E-cards (electronic postcards) and E-mail for Life, a free service that allows you to create a permanent e-mail address linked to your current internet service provider (ISP). Should you change providers, you can update the link; your WPI address remains the same. That way, no matter where life takes you, your friends and classmates will know where to find you. Some portions of the alumni Web site are password protected. To request a password, go to www.wpi.edu/Admin/Alumni, or call the Alumni Office at 508-831-5600.
Alumni volunteer involvement is a key factor in the success of WPI alumni services. If you are interested, there are many opportunities for volunteer participation, including openings on some Class Boards of Directors and on numerous committees, including Career Development, Lifelong Learning, the Alumni Funds Board, and Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD). As always, we are grateful to the many alumni volunteers who support WPI.
Your input is important to us, so please share your comments by contacting the Alumni Office or me.
