Teacher Licensing

WPI students wishing to receive the Initial License as middle or high school teachers in Massachusetts or states with reciprocating agreements with MA in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics can do so by passing the Massachusetts MTEL test, taking a Teaching Methods course (ID 3100), performing observation and practice teaching and developing an IQP based on this experience, and taking Psychology of Education (PSY 2401) and Cross-Cultural Psychology (PSY 2406). Also required are courses in the appropriate subject matter meeting State guidelines as defined in Massachusetts regulations (603 CMR 7.00).
