Title Upperclassmen Dormitory Design

Abstract
This MQP project focused on the design of a four story apartment style residence hall intended for upperclassmen. Three building designs were developed using steel, concrete, and a composite of steel and concrete. Based on cost, the team selected the steel structural system to design the atypical areas and analyze lateral forces. A construction cost estimate of the building was developed using 16 CSI divisions. An additional cost estimate was developed to incorporate LEED certification.
