Title	Bicycling in the New Territories of Hong Kong

Abstract Due to the high number of bicycling accidents and recent public outcry regarding bicycling, this project examines the current trends, safety, and convenience of Hong Kong's bicycling policy and infrastructure. Through surveys and naturalistic observation, we found that people in Hong Kong bicycle for both recreation and transportation, contrasting the prevailing government view. Additionally, we found that there is a lack of bicycling education, law abidance and enforcement, and the need for maintenance and improvement to the existing bicycling infrastructures, which may contribute to the high number of bicycling accidents. Given these findings, we set out to make recommendations to improve the safety and convenience of the bicycling system.
