The purpose of this project was to create a portable GPS device intended for use in a sailplane. The device will be very low power, low profile, relatively inexpensive, programmable, and small in size to save cockpit space. Also, it will display bearing, altitude, speed, and final glide to the designated home airport based on the glider performance entered by the pilot.
