Phytoestrogens, rather than estrogen, are gaining attention as an alternative for menopause therapy. It has been shown that Promensil, an over the counter phytoestrogen menopause treatment, causes a decrease in the proliferation of MCF7 cancer cells. This experiment investigates the estrogen dependent nature of the cells, and the effect of passage number and the addition of Insulin-like Growth Factor on their estrogen dependence.
