An improved pure sinewave DC/AC inverter design is presented, utilizing a unique three-level PWM switching scheme. Existing sinewave inverters typically use two-level PWM that results in larger switching voltage transitions, leading to power inefficiencies. This project incorporates a fully analog control circuit comprised of a high frequency triangle-wave generator, 60Hz sinewave oscillator, high speed comparators and a MOSFET H-Bridge, to successfully implement the desired three-level output. A passive low-pass filter is then used to filter out harmonics in the signal.
