    Abstract

Namibia is currently facing a water scarcity crisis, due to physical and social factors. For people living in informal settlements, rainwater harvesting is one way to ameliorate this situation. This project's goal was to use a

participatory approach to develop a method for rainwater harvesting within the informal settlements of Windhoek. In addition to implementing a pilot system in the community of Hakahana, we set up a sustainable supply chain to allow residents to construct similar systems on their own.
