    Abstract

The goal of our project was to research the history of boycotts, create a philosophical framework to address relevant moral issues, and to design a tool to utilize existing technology and research to provide data to consumers at the point of purchase. The tool is a prototype that can be used by organizations with similar goals. To accomplish these goals we did extensive research on consumer movements, philosophical positions that are both complementary and antithetical to the project, existing technologies, and organizations with similar goals. We also interviewed Alice Tepper Marlin, an important member of the consumer activism movement, surveyed local college students about their interest and familiarity with relevant issues, and implemented a Podcast based distribution system.
