Investigate and determine what types of information practicing mechanical designers and design engineers utilize throughout the design process, and what sources are used to locate that information.Reviewed existing catalogs, books, journals, engineering communities, online material databases, online vendors and other resources used by design engineers. The data collected were organized and analyzed to see if there were any clear trends among the mechanical design engineers based on size of company, length of career and internet usage. A list of their needs and preferences was also compiled.
