Research
- Digital Mapping: He has developed 4-dimensional ("temporal") maps, balanced cross-sections, and interactive block diagrams, and is currently working on web-based orientation data monitoring, analysis, and visualization using XML.
- Geo-Education: He has developed numerous interactive learning modules using Macromedia Flash and has presented several short courses related to geo-education. His current NSF-funded project offers undergraduate research opportunities.
- Stress, Strain, and Kinematic Analysis of Rocks: He has developed numerous original analytical techniques which have been applied by colleagues and students in many field settings, including western Ireland, Ellesmere Island, Yellowknife NWT, Appalachia, the Spanish Pyrenees, Sicily, Scandinavia, and the Argentinian Andes.
