Research

Professor Bianchi has composed music for television, opera, orchestra and theatre. He has won numerous prizes and awards for his compositions including the ASCAP Composers Award, the Russolo-Pratella International Electronic Music Competition in Italy, the Bourges International Computer Music competition in France, the Kennedy Center's 1990 Friedheim Award competition in orchestral composition, the National Orchestral Association's 1989 Orchestral Fellow Award in New York City, the United States Institute for Theatre Technology Award for Innovation and more.

A co-founder of Realtime Music in New York City, Bianchi's work has been involved in over 20,000 theatrical performances and numerous creative and research collaborations including Lucent Technologies and Cirque Du Soleil. Bianchi's work can be heard on the national Broadway tours of Jekyll & Hyde, Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Annie, Ragtime, Titanic, Miss Siagon, Music Man, Cinderella, Seussical, Oklahoma, Les Mis, and the world tour of Porgy & Bess. His music is performed and recorded frequently throughout the United States and Europe and includes orchestral premiers at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
