Research
My areas of research interest are in American social and urban history, New England regional history and American labor history. I have published work on communities and working class life in Manchester, New Hampshire and Worcester, Massachusetts, as can be seen from the list of selected publications below.
I serve as Executive Secretary of the New England historical Association, a regional professional group of approximately 700 historians who live and work in New England and whose scholarly interest represent all areas of historical research. NEHA is a regional affiliate of the American Historical Association. I invite those interested to visit NEHA's Web site, which I maintain.
I also maintain the Web site for the Northeast Popular Culture/American Culture Association, of which I am past president.
