Linking Pages To and From WPI

Linking to Web pages can be construed as endorsement of the content on the Web page. Therefore, organizations should always be aware of the information contained on pages linking to a site.Search engine rankings can go up or down depending on the rankings of the pages being linked to and being linked from. Therefore, careful managing of link approvals helps WPI raise its page rankings in the search engines.

With the approval of the Department of Web Operations, the following groups may link their web sites from the WPI Web server:

The Webmasters, on behalf of the university.
Officially constituted academic and administrative departments, offices, programs and centers.
Student organizations and chartered Greek organizations recognized by the WPI Student Activities Office.
Committees, special interest groups and other WPI groups.
Individual faculty members, staff members and students.

Note: Non-WPI organizations may request permission to use the WPI server to publish their information. Please contact the Department of Web Operations.
