Waltham Campus is a Beacon for Students in Eastern Massachusetts

Rising above Route 128 outside of Boston, WPI's Waltham Campus has become a well-known landmark along a stretch of blacktop often called "America's Technology Highway." With its Waltham Campus and a new satellite campus in Southborough, WPI is also building a reputation among professionals in eastern Massachusetts interested in high-quality graduate and continuing education programs.

The Waltham Campus was founded in 1996 to serve the educational needs of one of the nation's most sophisticated and highly trained work forces. For the men and women in today's fast-paced, information-driven workplace, change is a fact of life. WPI believes that in this volatile environment, education is a lifeline and the ticket to continued advancement and professional growth.

To provide that lifeline, WPI now offers a wide range of full- and part-time graduate and continuing education programs on-site in Worcester, Waltham and Southborough, and to students at remote locations through distance learning. There are more than 50 graduate programs in engineering, management, business administration and science at the master's and doctoral levels. The Graduate Admissions Office also works closely with corporations to develop on-site programs of study and affiliations with faculty on research and scholarship.

The University's Continuing Education Office offers nearly 300 programs annually, including hands-on information technology certificate programs, public seminars in world-class manufacturing, project management, quality and other areas, and customized corporate training programs.

Given the rapid pace of technological change, WPI has always placed a great emphasis on the importance of lifelong learning and the continual renewal of knowledge and skills. In fact, lifelong learning is not just an integral component of the University's academic programs, it is a key element of its strategic vision for the future.

This is but one of many stories about WPI, the nation's most innovative technological university. To find out more about the University, click on Read Other WPI Stories, select About on the home page, or just dig in and explore the rest of our Web site.
