2009-2010
Recyclemania 2010 begins!
WPI is joining the national Recyclemania competition again this year after a highly successful effort in 2009. Recyclemania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs throughout the country to promote waste reduction activities. Over a 10-week period, we will report recycling and trash data to a national site. The data is then ranked according to which institution collects the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita, or has the highest recycling rate.
With each week's reports and rankings, we can watch how our results compare to other schools around the state and country, and hopefully use this competition to rally our community to reduce waste and recycle more. For more information, visit recyclemaniacs.org.
