Student Green Team

Welcome to the WPI Student Green Team web page!  The Student Green Team is an organization dedicated to increasing the campus’s sustainability.  Each year we focus our efforts on specific initiatives to raise awareness and take action to help the environment. 

 

Current Projects

• The Great Power Race

  • Placed 4th overall in the United States
  • Placed 12th overall internationally out of over a thousand Universities  

• Achieving a reliable recycling program for Fraternities and Sororities on campus.

• Co-Hosting Quad Fest with Socom

• Sustainability Pledge

• Implemented a Local Foods only meal on campus once a month

• Team Retreat

• Planted bulbs on campus

• Improved WPI's campus recycling program 

• Created a public Facebook page

• Relay For Life

• Made contact with Consortium School Environment Clubs and NGO's

• Hosted a showing of the movie "Deep Green"

• Hosted a jean drive for the homeless

• Centralizing all research regarding sustainability topics on campus into a easy to access on-line resource.
