September 2009	Mass Clean Energy Center has awarded a $150,000 grant to IES WPI hosts “Sustaining Our World: Energy for the Future,” presented by WPI alumnus and current Sr. VP at ExxonMobile, Mike Dolan Formation of new student green team and constitution created Volunteers participate in Community Harvest Project for United Way Launched collaboration with Red Cab Co.

January 2010	Recyclemania 2010 begins US News & World Report includes WPI in article on sustainability efforts on campus and features East Hall in “10 Colleges with Green Dorms” Chartwell’s launches support of the Flexitarian – the individual who improves his health and the environment by having at least one meatless meal per week
February 2010	Student Eco-Reps are launched on campus, representing all resident halls WPI is recognized as “one of America’s Top Green Colleges” by US Green Building Council and Princeton Review WPI students win the Colleges of Worcester Consortium Engagement Award; Student IQP addressed a green energy evaluation of the Worcester Art Museum Professor Apelian receives grant for developing new technologies for maximizing the recovery and recycling of metals
March 2010	Staff Eco-Reps are launched, totally 26 volunteers across campus WPI participates in “Give A Book Program” Green Office Tips are posted on website Citizens Energy’s energy audit is published Student Green Team is officially recognized by the SOC
