Air Force Aerospace Studies

Welcome to the home of Detachment 340!

We are the United States Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) detachment for the Worcester Consortium located at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. In our program, students build and lead a dedicated cadet corps. AFROTC courses are taught by active duty USAF officers and cover subjects such as leadership, management, Air Force history, and national security affairs.

Cadets in their freshman year focus on learning about Air Force customs and courtesies.

Cadets in their sophomore year focus on Field Training preparation. Field Training is similar to basic training, but a greater emphasis is placed on group leadership development.

Cadets in their junior year focus on applying leadership skills.

Cadets in their senior year lead the cadet wing and are in final preparations to become Air Force officers.
