Projects & Opportunities
Each year many BME of students complete their major qualifying project (MQP) in the broad area of biomedical imaging. These projects often span multiple disciplines and are often done in conjunction with the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS), Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, and/or local companies. Below is a list of recent projects categorized by general areas of biomedical imaging, with links to the advisors for these projects. Individual projects in biomedical imaging can also be arranged by speaking with one of these advisors.
Optical imaging
- Automated image analysis system for filamentous bacteria in activated sludge (Camesano)
MRI and NMR
- Automated NMR instrumentation control from physiological parameters (Sotak)
- Evaluation of Biodegradation of Collagen Sponges Using MRI (Pins, Sotak)
- MRI of sexual aggression (Sullivan)
