Professional Societies
The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), has become the major association for the field over the last few years. Other societies are still very active and influential including:
The Whitaker Foundation has been instrumental in expanding and guiding the development of BME in general and undergraduate departments in specific. The development of our Undergraduate Program was funded in part by this foundation. Two of our core faculty members were awarded Research Grants totaling over $1,000,000 from the Whitaker Foundation (Billiar, Pins).
