The Biochemistry Minor
A biochemistry minor is possible but requires working with a faculty member to fill out and get approved an ‘individual minor’ form. Every year, three to four students are successful at getting the biochemistry minor approved. Typical minors include
- 1/3 unit organic chemistry
- 3/3 unit of biochemistry (typically 4110, 4120, 4130)
- 1/3 unit upper level BB course on cellular or subcellular biology (immunology, virology, advanced cell biology, advanced molecular genetics, etc)
- 1/3 unit capstone (CH4150, 4170, 4190, 4160)
The capstone must be the last (chronologically) course that you take for completion of the minor.
