Top journal publishes paper from Argüello group
Manuel Gonzalez-Guerrero and Jose Argüello reported a central step in maintaining Cu+ balance in biological systems in the Proceeding of the National Academy of Science USA (2008 Apr 22 105(16):5992-7)
Disruption of Cu balance is associated with various human pathologies. The manuscript that was featured in Faculty of 1000 - Biology, describes the transfer of Cu from its chaperone protein to the corresponding transmembrane transport ATPase.
