New business ventures continue to stimulate the global economy. The college campus is an ideal incubator for new ventures and licensing opportunities. WPI's academic and research focus is on technology, producing students ideally suited to taking advantage of the continuing growth in technologically-based enterprises.
Courses and a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation give students the foundation they need to understand basic business principles and how to turn their ideas into viable ventures. Students in the Entrepreneurship minor even use their Major Qualifying Project to begin developing their own business.
More opportunities to develop your entrepreneurial abilities exist with business plan, invention, and innovation competitions and access to a wide network of entrepreneurs interested in being a sounding board for technology ideas, mentoring, and/or placing students in technology product oriented internships.
