Innovation
The CEI Innovation System
One objective of the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (the Center) is to support the development of commercial applications for research findings and new technology ventures. The Center offers support through an innovation system that includes courses, mentoring, networks, experiential learning, workshops and seminars, a library, radio program, publications, web resources, and competitions.
Center employees, along with business faculty and the Technology Transfer Office, help researchers, faculty, and students identify new business and licensing opportunities created through the University's rich research and academic projects-based environment. Researcher, faculty, and student participation in the validation of ideas, intellectual property protection, patent strategies, venture structuring, and funding pursuit is highly encouraged and supported.
"The Center is particularly concerned with innovation that matters, innovation that is of value to the market and the economy and innovation that significantly contributes to the improvement of society or the environment."
