Randal Chinnock

Mr. Chinnock is president of Optimum Technologies, Inc., a product development and contract manufacturing company. He founded the company in 1994, and celebrated it's 10th anniversary last September. The company specializes in optical devices used to detect, diagnose, and treat disease. Recent projects have included endoscopes, fiberoptic sensors, microscopy systems, and phototherapeutic systems. The company provides services to medical device companies of all sizes, and has also received several SBIR awards to develop it's own novel technology. Its most recent award is from the National Cancer Institute for the development of a fiberoptic probe for early detection of cancer in-vivo.

For the past 25 years Mr. Chinnock has worked in a variety of companies involved with opto-mechanical and electro-optical devices and instruments. In 1982, he ran his first startup - an optical encoder plant in Puerto Rico. In 1991 he founded endoscope company HSW of America and served as its president for 3 years. He's an alumnus of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Colorado, where he obtained a BS in Engineering Physics.

Michael Gesner

Michael Gesner is a Co-Founder, Former Executive Officer and the current Advisor of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Game Development Club (GDC). The WPI GDC is a student organization dedicated to the enrichment and education of full-time students at WPI in the art of game development. Gesner has professional software development experience, ranging from database application design to web-driven software implementation. His management experience ranges from assisting in the IT department at Information Clearinghouse Incorporated, to directing the WPI GDC student body of over 75 students in development projects of their own design. Gesner's accolades include MassBalance, a budget balancing game designed for Senator Richard Moore for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and Rhu-Dina'ar, a small mutli-user domain which had about two thousand users that basically allowed them to play this game. Gesner is taking the first steps towards incorporating a company that will develop educational, entertainment, and training games for schools, municipalities, corporations, and consumers. Gesner currently seeks a degree from WPI.

Shari Worthington

Shari Worthington is President of Telesian Technology Inc., a marketing and e-business services firm focusing on the technology and manufacturing markets. Shari has over 20 years experience in management and marketing in the technology markets. Client workincludes start-ups as well as Fortune 500 corporations, including Apple Computer, Raytheon, Dresser, and Honeywell. Shari is an international lecturer on the topics of guerilla marketing, e-business, and e-marketing. Recently, she co-authored, "e-Business in Manufacturing: Putting the Internet to Work in the Industrial Enterprise". She is a member of the WPI Venture Forum Board of Directors; is a Business Counselor for the Center for Women in Enterprise; is a former President of the Industrial Computing Society; and was the founder of Science & Engineering Network News. She holds a BS in biology and psychology from St. Lawrence University, an MA in psychology from Framingham State College, and an MBA in marketing management from Babson College.

Desiree Awiszio '84 BSEE (magna cum laude)

Desiree is a hardware architecture, design, and development engineer with 19 years industry experience in ASIC/FPGA/CPLD, synthesis, timing, testability, vendor design processes and technology, back end tools, place and route, power analysis, verification, board development, CAD, debug, firmware, and software. Focus on Networks, Switches, Routers, Bridges, Enterprise Level Storage, NAS, SAN, IO Adapters, CPUs, High End Graphics, Pharmaceutical Robotics Medical Devices. Desiree founded an engineering consulting firm and ran that for nine years. She was employed at Digital Equipment Corporation for ten years. She patented on March. 9, 1993 - as Principal Inventor, U.S. Patent 5,193,149 for a Dual-Path Computer Interconnect System with Four-ported Packet Memory Control.

Stephen Marcus '01 MG

Stephen Marcus is an entrepreneur and venture consultant located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Stephen has personally incubated four ventures; VoiceLink Communications, Marcus Spectrum Holdings, FutureNet and The Marcus Group since 1994. Throughout 2001-03 he held the role of Chief Executive Officer of Marcus Communications, a 35-year old wireless products and services company in Manchester, Connecticut. During his tenure he was instrumental in leading Marcus Communications to triple-digit revenue growth in the Homeland Defense marketplace. He still serves on the Company's Board of Directors. Stephen's current ventures are focused in the wireless industry segment in areas such as wireless spectrum and infrastructure deployment. Stephen assists entrepreneurs in growing ventures from their grassroots concepts to fully operational business entities.

My name is Luke Glinski, I am 26 years old and I started a small ecommerce site which sells rubber stamps online. I sell stamps for office use as well as the golf industry. I have 1 other employee currently working for me and I consider this my secondary source of income as I am full time employed as a engineer. I am currently seeking an MBA at WPI.
