Description

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is offering six National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Nicoletti GK-6 Fellowships for graduate students interested in K-6 education. NSF regulations stipulate that Fellows must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or native residents of a U.S. possession, such as American Samoa, at the time of application for the fellowship. International students who hold student visas are not eligible. Fellows will be expected to work with Worcester Public School K-6 teachers, with WPI faculty and staff, and with WPI undergraduate students to develop and deliver an engineering curriculum for K-6 classrooms that will meet the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum framework. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or demonstrated interest in education.

Fellowship Application Procedure

The GK-12 Graduate Fellowship Application Form (PDF) is available here or in the Graduate Studies & Enrollment office. The completed form and personal statement must be on file in the Graduate Studies office by February 15 to receive priority consideration. No exceptions will be made. Faxes received on or before February 15 will be included. Mail postmarked by February 15, but received after February 15 will not be included. After this date we will accept additional applications, which will be reviewed on a "space available" basis. Fellowship applications may be submitted in the following ways:
