MPI Announces New Chairs for 2004
Worcester, Massachusetts - January 2004 - Diran Apelian, Professor and Director of the Metal Processing Institute at WPI, announced that the following individuals have been elected as Chairs of MPI's Steering Committees:
- Mr. Mario Ciampini, President of Ipsen, will direct the activities of the Board of Directors of the Center for Heat Treating Excellence.
- Mr. Nao Tsumagari, Manager of Materials Engineering at Briggs & Stratton, will chair the Steering Committee of the Advanced Casting Research Center.
- Mr. John Fulmer, Chief Metallurgist at Nichols Portland, will chair the Steering Committee of the Powder Metallurgy Research Center.
"The role of chair is most important because it not only provides leadership to each of the centers but also brings an industry perspective to the consortium" said Apelian.
