Apelian Selected for Teaching Award
Prof. Apelian has been selected to receive the Russell M. Searle award in Mechanical Engineering at WPI. This award is given to a ME faculty member who demonstrates outstanding teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Students vote for a faculty member based on their experiences in the classroom.
Diran Apelian is Howmet Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Metal Processing Institute at WPI. He received his B.S. degree in metallurgy engineering from Drexel University and his doctorate in materials science and engineering from MIT.
Apelian has received many distinguished honors and awards, has over 300 publications to his credit, and serves on several technical and corporate boards.
