Apelian Welcomes Five New Companies
Diran Apelian, Howmet Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Metal Processing Institute at WPI, announced that five companies joined the Institute.
General Aluminum Manufacturing Co. of Ohio, Montupet of France and Phillips Plastics of Wisconsin have joined the Advanced Casting Research Center. Daimler-Chrysler Corporation who has been a long time member of the Advanced Casting Research Center has joined the Powder Metallurgy Research Center. Worcester based Cryogenic Institute of New England has become a Silver member of the Center of Heat Treating Excellence.
"It is indeed a pleasure to welcome these members to our Institute...they will bring much knowledge and experience to each of the consortia," Apelian stated at the Center’s annual meetings.
