J. Fred Major Named 2002-2003 ASM Canada Council M. Brian Ives Lecturer
J. Fred Major (Alcan International Ltd., Kingston, Ontario, Canada) has been named the 2002-2003 ASM Canada Council M. Brian Ives Lecturer; the titles of his talks are "Aluminum Automotive Castings - Challenges and Opportunities," "The Control of Porosity and Fatigue Life in Aluminum Alloy Castings," and "Alloy Selection for Aluminum Shape Castings."
The ASM Canada Council established the ASM Canada Council M. Brian Ives Lectureship in 1971 to assist Canadian Chapters of ASM with quality technical programming in materials science and engineering for their monthly technical meetings.
