Jackie Isaacs Wins Excellence in Teaching Award

Jackie Isaacs, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern and an Affiliate Professor associated with MPI's PMRC, has won the University Excellence in Teaching Award at Northeastern. Please look at the Northeastern University release below:

Two named 'excellent' teachers

(May 10, 2000) -- Two professors have been honored with the university's annual Excellence in Teaching Award for their innovative approaches to instruction and their outstanding efforts to help students achieve their highest potential, officials announced this week.

The recipients for 2000 are Jacqueline Isaacs, assistant professor of mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineering; and Bruce Wallin, associate professor of political science.

Each professor will receive a $3,000 cash award and will be recognized at June 17 commencement.

Six candidates were up for review this year. To be considered, each candidate was nominated and then subjected to a lengthy review by a selection committee where they are required to submit a host of teaching materials for consideration, including syllabi, exams and other documents detailing their teaching goals and expectations.
