MPI Students Recognized
Diana Lados, a doctoral candidate working with Prof. Apelian in the Aluminum Casting Research Laboratory, received an award at the AFS Casting Congress in Pittsburgh, PA. The award was AFS's Aluminum Division Scholarship for 2000. Ms. Lados received the award at the Aluminum Division Banquet on April 7, 2000. In addition, she received the ASM Chet Inman Award Scholarship at the April meeting of the ASM (Worcester Chapter).
Jeff Webster, a MTE master's student and an Industrial Intern at Amcast, received the ASM Chet Inman Award Scholarship at the April meeting of the ASM (Worcster Chapter).
Ed Gaboriault, a ME graduate student working with Prof. Richman on the Control of Green Density, was selected as a recipient of the Axel Madsen Award given by the Center for PM Technology. He will be receiving this award at the PM2TEC meeting in June in New York City. As part of the award he will write a report on the Conference which will be published in a future issue of the International Journal of Powder Metallurgy.
