Program Information
Overview
Over a one-week period the program will explore the futuristic realm of science and technology with applied robotics. The program will utilize the LEGO® MINDSTORMS™ system to design, build, and program autonomous robots to explore challenges that are only as limited as your imagination. On Friday, there will be a competition to showcase what was learned during the week.
Students will be placed into teams of 3-5. Teams will work together to learn about the NXT, and its programming language; and complete a variety of tasks linked to a central theme. The theme will be announced at the beginning of the week.

- To use new and developed skills to complete tasks using the robot

Day-by-Day Overview
Day 1
- Get to know each other
- Form teams
- Introduce NXT and its components
- Introduce the challenge for the week
Day 2
- Teams will fill out task outline and modify plans
- Introduce NXT programming language
- Teams will create basic programs
Day 3
- Teams continue building, programming, and testing their robot
Day 4
- Complete building and testing the robot
Day 5
- Competition with the team-designed robots will begin at 1pm. All family members are invited to attend.
- Clean up and disassemble robots
