Open House 2012
SUMMER PROGRAMS FREE OPEN HOUSE
March 1, 2012 3:00p.m. -7:00p.m.
The Open House will run as scheduled despite the weather.
The forcast has things clearing out just in time for the open house, and remember you may arrive any time between 3-7PM. Because of the weather, there are a few concerns that you should be aware of:
- The City of Worcester currently has a parking ban on street parking. Before you leave the house you may want to check http://www.worcesterma.gov/e-services/winter-parking-ban to see if the ban has been lifted.
- WPI allows visitor parking in the following lots: Quadrangle, Higgins House Lot, Boynton St Lot, and Hackfield Lot. I would suggest that you become familiar with the campus map at http://www.wpi.edu/about/visitors/campusmap.html. This will show you where the lots are and where the campus center is in relationship to the lots. We recommend trying the Boynton Lot *first* if you are arriving before 5PM. We're sorry, but there is no reserved parking for this event, but many spaces open up near the end of the day.

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the WPI campus on March 1st. You are invited to attend the Summer Programs Open House at any time that is convenient for you. Throughout the Open House, we will have representatives available from the various summer programs, such as athletic camps, robotics programs, and our award-winning Camp Reach, as well as staff from dining and residential services. If you’d like to get a campus tour or attend a formal presentation, please note the following schedule.
3:00 PM Arrival and check-in, enter drawing for door prizes until 6PM
3:15-4:00 First Campus Tour
4:00-4:10 Welcome - Brian Degon, Assoc. Director of Summer Programs
4:10-4:40 Camp Reach, Frontiers, Launch - Admissions Office
4:40-5:00 Leadership Academy for Young Women - Prof. Helen Vassallo
5:00-5:20 Advanced Math - Prof. Bogdan Vernescu
5:20-5:40 Robotics Programs - Prof. Ken Stafford
5:40-6:00 Technical Computing Programs - Sia Najafi, Director of Research Computing
6:00 Drawing for Door Prizes
6:00-6:45 Second Campus Tour or Robotics Demonstration (your choice)
7:00 PM Open House Ends
