Undergraduate Programs

Creating Successful Engineers: Leaders in Business and Society

The Aerospace Engineering Program seeks to impart to our students strong technical competence in fundamental engineering principles along with specialized aptitude in aeronautical and astronautical engineering topics. The Aerospace Engineering Program also seeks to foster students’ creative talents with the goal of developing a personal high standard of excellence and professionalism.

The program seeks to provide our students an appreciation of the role of the aerospace engineer in society; students graduate understanding the importance of globalization, professional ethics, and the social impact of technology.

The program is designed to incorporate theory and practice, consistent with WPI’s philosophy; students complete an aerospace-related Major Qualifying Project and extensive laboratory work within courses.

Additional information about undergraduate study at WPI is available in the WPI Undergraduate Catalog.

A Program Option for Outstanding Undergraduates

Motivated undergraduates may pursue a combined bachelor of science and either a master of science or master of engineering degree in approximately five years. To learn more about the BS/MS program, see our WPI Graduate Catalog.
