Cadet Rinaldo, '13

Degree: BS, Mechanical Engineering

Reasons for choosing AFROTC:
Entering college, I knew only one thing about my future: I wanted to make a difference. I would be satisfied in life if I knew that my efforts made better the lives of others. I believe there is no better way to make a difference in others' lives than through the military.

Describe how your experience with AFROTC has been beneficial to you during your time at WPI.
AFROTC places you in positions that wil develop your skills as both a leader and a follower. You will be placed in positions of stress and asked to act decisively. This is particularly useful for the WPI student since so much of the curriculum depends upon group work. As a cadet, you will emerge as a presence in any group you participate in.

What you hope to do when you graduate?
I hope to use my engineering degree when I graduate and enter the Air Force. It would be very fulfilling to be able to apply the knowledge I acquired over my four years of education. I am particularly interested in Developmental Engineering.

Groups or extracurricular activities you participate in at WPI:

  • Strike Eagles (precision drill team)
  • Arnold Air Society (community service organization)
