Requirements
To be eligible for commissioning in the US Air Force and become a member of ROTC, prospective cadets must be:
- Enrolled full-time in an accredited college that hosts—or has a cross-town agreement with—an AFROTC detachment
- Participating in both the Aerospace Studies class and Leadership Lab each semester
- Aged 14 or older (minimum age for enlistment is 17; minimum age for commissioning is 18; maximum commissioning age is 30)
- Of good moral character
Continuing in the program requires:
- Passing a physical examination and physical fitness requirements
- Maintaining height/weight standards
- Passing the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test
- Successfully completing field training
- Maintaining requisite GPA standards
- Earning a C- or better in any Aerospace Studies Course, and passing all Leadership Labs
- Receiving an allocation slot in the Professional Officer Course
- Holding US citizenship prior to entering into the Professional Officer Course

- Junior: Air Force Leadership Studies (AS 3001/3002/3003/3004)
- Senior: National Security Affairs (AS 4001/4002/4003/4004)
