Project Presentation Day

During the spring term of the academic year, the Biomedical Engineering Department (BME) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute holds its annual Project Presentation Day to recognize the scientific and engineering accomplishments of our BME undergraduate students.  These presentations represent year-long efforts by our undergraduates on their Major Qualifying (Senior Design) Projects.

The mission of the BME Department is to prepare students for rewarding careers in the health-care industry or professional programs in biomedical research or medicine.  The students in our program are well-versed in the fundamental knowledge of engineering and basic science and can apply these principles to solve complex problems in biology and medicine.  More importantly, WPI's project-oriented curriculum prepares students to engage in a lifetime of professionalism and learning.

This year's Project Presentation Day will be held on Thursday, April 19th beginning in the morning with 3 preliminary parallel sessions divided into biomechanics, tissue engineering and instrumentation.  These sessions will be held in Salisbury Labs rooms 104, 105 and 115.  From each session 2 finalists will be selected to compete in the afternoon.  For a complete list of presentations, click here 2012 Project Presentation Day Schedule.

If you would like to attend Project Presentation Day, please contact Lisa Wall in the Biomedical Engineering office at +1-508-831-6623 or by email ljwall@wpi.edu.

We look forward to your attendance at this year's Project Presentation Day.

Ki Chon,
Ph.D. Professor and Department Head
