Why did you choose WPI?
I went to an open house and felt at home with the programs. I loved the team orientation that people had.
How did WPI's philosophy of Theory and Practice, and working with teams, prepare you for facing real-world challenges in the workplace?
The real world is all project based and it's all applied. Having the theory to think through problems of how and why when you get stuck is so important. And then having the practical side of what you learn allows you to solve problems, make a difference, and keep current. Since all of this in teams, it's almost no different than the real world, since you are never in a vacuum.
How did your studies at WPI prepare you for working in your field?
I learned a lot about management in general. Plus, I was a dual major (with computer science) for a time, and a lot of the software engineering/computer science was important to have. Learning in team settings was also pretty important since nothing is done individually.
