Transferring Credit
WPI’s School of Business allows graduate students to transfer up to nine credits of prior graduate-level course work. Criteria for transferring credits include the following:
- A grade of 3.0 (or equivalent) or higher
- Course must have been taken within the prior six years
- The credit has not been applied toward a graduate degree at another institution
- The course must be similar to WPI graduate business courses
Examples of School of Business graduate courses and similar courses at other institutions:
FIN500 - Financial Information and Management ‒ Similar courses include the following:
- Financial Accounting
- Finance
FIN501 - Economics for Managers ‒ Similar courses include the following:
- Microeconomics
- Macroeconomics
MIS500 - Innovating with Information Systems ‒ Similar courses include Management Information Systems course(s) covering the following:
- IT Governance
- Security Management
- Enterprise Systems
- Privacy and Ethics
- System Development
- Cloud Computing
- Open Source
- Mobile Technologies
- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
MKT500 - Understanding Customers and Creating Value ‒ Similar courses include the following:
- Principles of Marketing Strategy
OBC500 - Group and Interpersonal Dynamics in Complex Organizations ‒ Similar courses include 1-2 organizational behavior courses with an experiential design. These courses must have a strong emphasis on self-awareness and improvement in the areas of relationships and group process. Additional topics must include:
- Communication
- Power
- Influence
- Structure
- Group and Intergroup Processes
OIE500 - Analyzing and Designing Operations to Create Value ‒ Similar courses include the following:
- Operations Management/Research
- Statistics
