ACM Student Research Competition Grand Finals Winner
The CS department is very proud to announce that Manasi Vartak '10 was one of the three winners of the 2010 ACM Student Research Competition in the Undergraduate Division.
The competition, which is sponsored by Microsoft Research, includes winners of Research Competitions from well-known ACM sponsored conferences. Manasi was the Grace Hopper 2009 competition winner.
In the Grand Finals competition, all those undergraduate and graduate student winners are evaluated by a different panel of judges via the Web. The winners and their advisors receive their awards at the annual ACM Awards Banquet in San Francisco, California on June 26.
Manasi was recognized for her work on Query-Oriented Relaxation for Cardinality Assurance, which was advised by Prof. Elke Rundensteiner, with Venkatesh Raghavan as collaborator, and supported by a grant from the Computing Research Association.
