Writing Tutor Position – Undergraduate
If you enjoy writing and would like to become a paid undergraduate tutor in WPI’s Writing Center, contact the Center’s Director, Professor Ryan Madan. Before working in the Center, prospective tutors are required to take the credit-bearing training course TEACHING WRITING, offered each A-Term.
Writing Tutor Position – Graduate
The Writing Center hires up to four graduate student writing tutors each year. Applicants should be proficient writers and have experience with business, science, or other forms of technical writing. Before tutoring in the Center, prospective tutors must complete ONE of the following: a three-day training workshop offered in A-Term; Participation in the Spring Institute on Teaching with Writing (held in June); or the one-credit course, Teaching with Writing, which is offered through the Consortium’s Certificate in College Teaching program. For more information, contact Professor Lorraine Higgins.
Language Tutor Positions
The Writing Center employs language tutors (currently, Spanish and Mandarin, but we hope to hire a German tutor soon). We are looking for native speakers of these languages who have advanced writing skills. Contact Professor Ryan Madan if you would like to be considered for a position.
