The Center for Advanced Integrated Radio Navigation (CAIRN) is focused on the integration of communication and navigation system technologies to create systems, which provide communications, navigation, and tracking in both infrastructure based and Ad-Hoc based networks. CAIRN's mission is to develop critical communication and positioning systems needed to support distributed sensor networks of the types proposed to assist war fighters, emergency personals and civilians. Students wishing to be involved should have interest in RF design of transmitters and receivers, Digital design, DSP design, Algorithms design, RF analog and digital simulation, PCB design, SMT fabrication and indoor network simulation.
