Laboratory for Enabling Technologies in Medical Ultrasound
The Ultrasound Research Laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is a 1200 square foot facility, with office space for five to six graduate students and research space for ultrasound experiments, numerical modeling work, wireless communication studies, and development of electronic circuits. An experienced electronic technician is also part of the lab.
The lab has a variety of ultrasound scanners, such as portable, PC based Terason t2000 and t3000 ultrasound systems, an Ultrasonix RP scanner and an HP ImagePoint digital ultrasound system. Ultrasound pulser/receivers and measurement tanks are available. The lab also has facilities for making soft tissue phantoms.
